In the first quarter final of ICC World CUP 2015, SA beat SL by 9 wickets and hence SA qualified for the semi final.As this is second round of ICC world cup matches which is knock out,team loosing the match,means loosing the World Cup.So SL outed from World Cup 2015 race.The first semi final against SA became the last match for the SL tema and for the most important and outstanding players Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene as well as they decided to retire from the ODI cricket.Both players played together for the 15 years and played a good role in the team.
Both players played very good cricket for SL.Sri Lanka won MOst of the matches due to their partnership.
Terrific cricket records for both the cricket legend is outstanding.
